The Mississippi river is located in the United states of America and runs through 10 different sates which include Minnesota,
Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi
and Louisiana.
The Mississippi river is one of three main rivers in the United states with the other two rivers including the Ohio and Missouri rivers. The rivers source of water is from Lake Itasca in Minnesota and the mouth of the river is the Gulf of Mexico. The river also has a total length of 3750 km which is 1.5 times larger than the Murray river and has a total discharge of 17,330 meters cubed every second which is 23 times more than the Murray river.
